"The Beauty of Color"
16x20" acrylic on canvas
(C) Cara Bevan 2012
Spiders exemplify diversity - they're found in nearly every habitat. Mountains, plains, swamps,
deserts, even underwater to a certain degree! With their many locations there are also many
colors. They can and have been any color imaginable. Even on my family farm, just 128 acres of
the world's vast spaces, I've found a wide array of spider species and colors. Black, white,
brown, grey, yellow, orange, red, metallic green. And yes, even the rare blue spider I've seen!
Despite spiders being hairy, and spindly, and seen as the monsters they're often portrayed, I
admire them for their uniqueness. When the sun hits them just right, them and their colors seem
to glow like the sun. Spiders are, in essence, the infinite living prism.
