This is a handmade, one-of-a-kind art sculpture made from gourds. It uses two "egg" gourds to form the body and dense wire for the legs and pinchers. Epoxy clay was used to sculpt the accurate forms of the legs, carapace, and every small detail. It's painted with acrylics, then sealed with moisture-resistant sealer. ***not for outside display***

Gourd Beetle #HR29 is a large male Stag Beetle. These are aggressive beetles, able to grab on with their giant pinchers not let go. They're well known for wrestling each other and being the fighters of the bug world! This sculpture measures 6" tall, 8.5" wide, and 9.25" long.
